Klaine AU | Blaine is a VJ on Kurt’s favourite music show.
Kurt hated Top 40 songs.
He honestly did, unless they were by Adele or Gaga or Florence.
But most of the songs that the general public listened to, he couldn’t stand.
Which would be all well and good…
…if Blaine freaking Anderson wasn’t the VJ for all the Top 40 songs on vh1.
Kurt tediously sat through “Sexy And I Know It”, waiting for the interim between videos.
“And that was LMFAO!” Blaine grinned at the screen, flashing his big white teeth. “Great guys! I met them backstage at one of their concerts! Now, remember, in ten minutes, you can call in a request and if you’re the lucky winner, we’ll show whichever video you’d like!”
Kurt grabbed his phone, waiting.
Ten minutes later, he was feverishly dialing the number on the bottom of the screen.
“Alright!” Blaine grinned. “One lucky caller! Let’s see who it is!” He leaned forward and pressed a button. “Hello?”
Kurt jumped as he heard the voice on his screen and in his phone. “Hi!” he squawked out.
“This is Blaine Anderson,” Blaine said, grinning smoothly through the screen. “To whom am I speaking?”
“Kurt Hummel,” Kurt said breathlessly. “From Lima, Ohio.”
“Hey, Kurt!” Blaine laughed. “So, is there any particular music video that you—”
“I wanna hold your hand!” Kurt blurted out before covering his mouth in horror.
Blaine laughed. “Sorry, but the Beatles didn’t have a video for that one. But you’re a man after my own heart. Anything else.”
Kurt blushed heavily, glad that no one could see him. “Um…Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance?”
“Sure thing, Kurt!” Blaine grinned. “I give to you all, the Queen of Misfits, Lady Gaga!”
Kurt hung up his phone and watched the familiar video, head still reeling. It got to the part where she’s marching in the Alexander McQueen jellyfish outfit when his phone rang. “Hello?”
“Kurt Hummel of Lima, Ohio.”
Kurt nearly dropped his phone. “Blaine! Hi.”
“Hello,” Blaine chuckled. “If you still want to hold my hand, I’ll be in Columbus next week. Want to get coffee?”
“Wait, really?” Kurt breathed.
“Sure! Why not take a chance.”
“And don’t ever look back, right?” Kurt rolled his eyes with a laugh. Teenage Dream was the song Blaine always got the most hyped up over. It was worth sitting through it a hundred times to see Blaine’s enthusiasm.
“Right,” Blaine laughed. “Next Saturday good?”
“Next Saturday’s great.”
“Awesome. Be sure to wear skin-tight jeans.”
“Blaine!”
“Sorry, it’s my favorite.”
“I’ve noticed.”
“I’ll see you later then, Kurt Hummel of Lima, Ohio.”
